Pokemon Go Fest 2021 Date and Time

Go Fest Pokemon Go Cryogarden

The Go Fest 2021 date has been set for July 17 and 18. The event will be live on both days from 10AM to 6PM local time.

The musical themed Go Fest 2021 will celebrate Pokemon Go’s fifth anniversary. The ticket holders will get access to set of special events, raids, research missions, Pokemon, and more during the active window of the event. Meanwhile, the non-ticket holders shall also get special perks during the set time such as hourly habitats, event-themed Pokemon and Raid bosses, and much more. Therefore, a ticket holder, or not, you are going to be quite busy that weekend!

Pokemon Go Fest 2021 Ticket price

A ticket for the Go Fest 2021 will cost $4.99 or the equivalent in your country. This ticket will be valid for both days, and has been open for purchase since May 27, 2021. Since this year’s Go Fest is being sponsored by the Google Play Store, the price for the tickets has been chopped down from $14.99 to $4.99.

In case you are wondering how to purchase the said Ticket, just open the in-game store. Now scroll down until you find the Go Fest 2021 banner (this should be just below the various boxes such as Ultra, Special, or Starter). Tap on the banner. There you will find a ‘Buy’ option, along with the purchase amount ($4.99). Upon successful purchase, the ticket will be added to your item storage.

This year’s musical theme allows the players to choose between one of two themes- Rock Star Pikachu or one featuring Pop Star Pikachu. Based on what the players choose, Rock Star Pikachu or Pop Star Pikachu will appear in the wild (both will be tradable). Moreover, Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Zigzagoon, Gardevoir, and Flygon will be appearing in music-themed costumes to match Pikachu. To add to the fun, the in-game music will also change according to the Ticket chosen.

Go Fest 2021: Day 1

Below are the various events that will be available for Ticket holders as well as non-ticket holders.

Hourly Habitats

Day 1 will feature 4 themed habitat hours, namely Jungle, Desert Mountain, Ocean Beach and Cave. Pokemon living in these habitats will be appearing in the wild. For example, the Jungle habitat will feature Pokémon such as Scyther, Aipom, Froakie, while the cave habitat will feature Pokémon such as Roggenrola, Galarian Stunfisk, Deino, and more. Each hour will also have their own set of collection challenges.

Because of the musical theme, expect to find musically inclined Pokemon more frequently in the wild. This includes Kricketot, Chimecho, Audino and a currently unknown costumed Pikachu.

Event-themed Raids

Pokémon such as Hitmontop, Cranidos, and Deino will be appearing in the raids. Additionally, Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Zigzagoon wearing special costumes will also be appearing in raids.

Costumed Pokemon and new shiny debut

Two versions of costumed Pikachu (depending upon the Ticket), along will Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Zigzagoon wearing costumes will be available as long as the event is live. More importantly, Whismur, Chimecho, Audino, Tympole, Unown F, Throh and Sawk will get thier first shiny debut in Pokemon Go.

1/2 hatch distance and increased Lure duration

The hatch distance for any egg incubated when the event is live will become halved. Various event-themed Pokemon will also be hatching from the 7km eggs. Additionally, the Lure Modules’ duration will be increased upto 3 hours.

An event-exclusive Special Research story

A Special research quest will be available for the Ticket holders. This whole event will be focused on helping Professor Willow organize a music festival. The event will award a new Mythical Pokemon, an exclusive Avavtar pose and a new t-shirt upon completion. The same will be available for others players as well in future.

Players will also get surprise encounters after snapshots on both event days, once the Special Research is completed.

Global Challenge

Just like last year, a Global challenge will be available for the Ticket holders. They need to work together with other players to unlock special bonuses. These will be active for the rest of the event.

Special Pokémon attracted to Incense

Any incense used during the event will attract special Pokemon, including Unown F, Unown G, Chatot, Throh, Sawk, and more. The shiny rates for these pokemon, as well as those in the wild will be increased. Note: The shiny rates will be decreased on Sunday.

Go Fest 2021: Day 2

Below are the various events that will be available only for Ticket holders.

Bonus Raid XP

Players will get additional 10,000XP throughout the event for successfully completing a Raid Battle.

Timed Research for extra Raid Passes

There will be a special timed research which will reward upto 8 raid passes. Moreover, you can earn additional 10 raid passes by spinning Gym photo discs.

Free event bundle in Store

A free bundle containing 3 remote raid passes will be available in the in-game Shop. This bundle will only be available on Sunday, from 10AM till 6PM local time.

Additional Bonus: Day 1 and Day 2

  • Trainer photos will be featured in the Today View during the event. You can share your photos with #PokemonGOFest2021 for a chance to see them being featured in game.
  • Half hatch distance and event-themed Pokemon (Igglybuff, Chingling, Audino and more) hatching from 7km eggs.
  • Lure Modules will last upto 3 hours.
  • Unown F and Unown G will be attracted to Incense throughout the event, and can also be shiny.
  • Event-exclusive field research tasks, special on-screen visual effect and music.

  • Desert Mountain: Flareon, Unown F, Unown G, Tyranitar, Flygon, and Throh.
  • Ocean Beach: Gyarados, Vaporeon, Azumarill, Unown F, Unown G, and Sawk.
