Pokemon Go Egg Types
Pokemon Go has four types of eggs, categorized according to their respective hatch distances. These are- 2km, 5km, 10km and 12km or Strange eggs. Eggs can be obtained by spinning Pokestops, Gyms or by defeating Team Go Rocket Leaders. These eggs require incubation in various incubators available in the game. Upon walking the distance required by the egg you have incubated, an ‘Oh’ message appears on the screen. This means the egg is ready to hatch, after which you see the hatched Pokemon, and you get some amount of the hatched Pokemon’s candies and Stardust. These amounts depend upon the type of egg you have hatched.
The chances of receiving eggs of each types upon spinning Pokestops and Gyms are rougly:
- 2km: 47.9%
- 5km: 36.6%
- 10km: 15.5%
